Best HVX200 demos/samples and overall opinion??

I've been kind of out of touch with the HVX200 and was now trying to get some info on this camera for possible purchase, particularly as the camera's now been around for awhile and tested by a wider user base.

In particular, can anyone direct me to 3-4 of the best HD samples/demos shot with the camera that I may download. In particular, I'd like to see stuff that people think is really awesome looking and a great example of what the camera can do.

Also, trying to guage overall opinion of the camera is aways hard, but what seems to be the overall feeling now (especially from those who own one and have been using it for awhile)???

Does the HVX200 need updating? Does it do the job it was designed for? Are there any serious short comings? Anyone regret purchasing it?

Any info appreciated...

*** I own a DVX100b and love it, tried the Canon XL H1 and can't say I really loved it!!

I'm currently shooting with a few other people a feature in 1080 24p and I have to say...the results are phenomenal.

The image is really sharp..and it gives the most versatility with the scene files. Shoot a flat image...in post later on you can do ALOT.

I don't have any footage to post at the moment...but it's a great camera for its price.

If you love the DVX100B you will not love the HVX200's poor low-light performance compared to the DVX. You will love the P2 workflow, if you can afford the cards. The audio is great, like the DVX and not like the Canons.

Man, that's a dogged out comment. Garbage in, garbage out for lighting. If you properly expose your stuff and shoot when you have some optimal lighting, you get gold and much more so than any DV camera. I can't even look at DV without gringing.. The HVX and any other HDV camera kills what you get out of a 1/3 inch SD camera... Sure it's got noise and no low light, but most people are using it for pro applications and not run and gun style wedding shoots. IF that's ya bag then maybe a single chip CMOS HDV would be ya thing...

Really I've owned the HVX200 for about a year and a half and I've literelly never run into not having enough light. I do have a decent light kit though....maybe I'm just so used to setting up the proper lighting I don't notice the low light performance. Needless to say this cam is great in a controlled environment, as far as run and gun I don't do much but even when I'm toying with my brevis I don't seem to lack in getting a good exposure. So anyway I don't think the lowlight will be a huge issue, learn the cam and adapt to it and you'll love it.

I've used two for well over a year and only had one problem. A camera op spilled his watter bottle on top of the camera. Some of the buttons stopped working,.. but after an hour of it sitting in my car in mid-summer it worked fine.

I can't think of any other camera in it's price rage I'd ever want to use over this. And I agree about the low light,.. who shoots in the dark?

guys, very cool I'm about to ditch my 16month old SONYHVRZ1P HDv for a new PANA HVX-200 P2 16GB.

Any more positive things would be cool to hear about.

DP Vincent Pascoe's 'Yesterday's Tomorrow' sold me on the hvx. I think you can download the sample from the redrock micro site.
