Hey y'all, I've been lurking for awhile, bought a DVX100B 2 months ago, and just registered to recommend this source for the 1510 case:

Quite a bit cheaper, even the shipping is 1/3 the other place mentioned and they are fast, I have no affiliation but I've ordered from this outfit many times with no problems. I would also recommend the case w/ padded dividers, they don't fall apart like the foam. If you like foam you can still "set" the camera snugly in some extra foam in one section of the divider and use the rest of the dividers for accessories (gives you a LOT more storage room w/ no plucking). Anyway thanks all for the wealth of info here on this great camera!

The Petrol Small Papoose is also great if you want a "soft but rigid" backpack style, it has plenty of room for accessories... I just flew with it carry-on and was *very* happy, holds my camera, 15" laptop, a small Sony capture camera, cables, chargers, batteries, tapes, shotgun w/ wind cover, headphones, etc.

Definitely think about a pelican case. Check out there website and you can also watch the performance video's. I have the 1600 case and I love it. It is quite large, but for me, I like to carry my camera with shotgun mic and cords and other accessories all together. I would think the 1550 would do just fine though. Should be around 200-230 for one of those cases. Believe me though they offer some of the best protection for your equipment.

Pelican is the way to go! I own the Pelican and its worth every penny. I can fit my dvx, power /AV chords, charger, mic and a few tapes (with still some room to spare.) It's also on wheels, is legal carry-on size for flying and is built like a rock.

What About?

What About?

What about the Panasonic case? The AG-HT100G is great case. While I'll admit mine was given to me and it is not waterproof, I can't believe it doesn't even get a mention. The DVX fits perfectly and many accessories. Is this not a good case? Just wondering if maybe I am missing something. I know Pelican products. I have sold them before for REI and I own several. That being said I prefer my AG-HT100G.

Anybody have any pics of their own Pelican's. I am looking at getting one as well but cant get a feel for the size of them. A picture that shows off any sized pelican (as i dont know which one to get) with something of relative size would be amazing!

Hey anyone think a 1500 would be too small? All i really care about is the camera. Not any accessories or anything.

NOTE - this is a cut out for an HVX in a 1510, but hopefully gives you some reference. My guess is without many accessories you'd be fine.

For those who fly with cases bigger than the 1510 do you check them as baggage? I will rather have a soft case so that I can sling my camera over my shoulder when I am not using it. Since I occaisonally fly perhaps it would be best for me to get the 1510. I have a DVX100a.

Hey Johnnyha, any chance you can post a pic of your dvx with padded dividers...im on the verge of buying one and not entirely sure if i should get foam or dividers.
