I'm going to be shooting a music video in a low light situation (only have work lights at this time, all the softbox type of lights are at britek awaiting repair for the last month!!! ).

So it's a low light situation . I have researched this forums for hours , changing settings etc constantly . I just want to shoot this video decently .

If anyone has any recommended settings that they use under such a situation , to make the video as flat as possible looking for the film look . Thanks .

This is for a DVX100A .

Well I mean , if anyone has any suggestions for panasonic settings other then telling me to flip through a billion options which I've already done, then that be great (hasn't been ideal to try messing with my camera in just a living room), I'll be getting some lights in a bit .

I have both cameras just a matter of what to use then. XHA1 is HD so thought maybe that be a lil better.

So, what exactly are you trying to achieve? Worried that the work lights will be too contrasty, and looking to achieve a softer/flatter look? You can light pretty flat with just a couple work lights, it's not hard, just light it like TV, with frontal lights from left and right, and you can toss some difussion in front of the work lights to soften them.

Not sure what you're getting at.

One thing I would say is to maybe shoot at a 1/24 (360 degrees) or 1/32 (270 degree) shutter speed as opposed to the standard 24P shutter speed of 1/48 (180 degrees). This will allow more light to enter. This will have the downside of having more motion blur but for a music video it should actually look better and give it very smooth motion.
