best fisheye (sans the extreme) for the hpx-170

The 16x9 and the century arent too far apart in price, so which is better? And by better i mean glass clarity, width and vig.

also in an old thread i saw someone said "Someone on skate perception used the front of a Century MKII fisheye for a DVX, with the back piece of a century .6x wide angle" that gave results much like an extreme from century. Anyone have instructions on that or have video with such a mod on?

from looking around it looks like the 16x9 is wider but at the price of having some vig. can you zoom in a hair and loose the vig and still be wider than a century without loose of quality/focus? is there a glass quality difference in the first place?

i recently purchased the 16x9 for my original HVX.

Love it. yes there is a slight bit of vig in the top left corner.. but its tiny.. and only i notice it.

As long as you turn of OIS you'll have no problems.

Havent used or seen the Century so cant comment. Yes you can zoom in slightly to get rid of that big if you really want too.

I used the 16x9 fisheye and wide-angle attachments on both the HVX200 (with 82mm adapter) and the HPX170. Like Joe says, there is a hair of vignetting, but nobody who saw the footage ever noticed or objected to it.

probably a bit more on the hpx than the hvx with the lens width difference.
