Best filter kit for FS 100

I don't think there are such things as best filters for the FS100 specifically . There are just best filters. You can ask this question on any other lens forum.
What lens your using is more important than what camera.

As for which is "handy" to use with the FS100 or a dslr or any camera that doesn't have an nd filter you should go for for a variable nd filter like this one : http://www.lightcraftworkshop.com/fader-nd-mk-ii.html
The quality is great an its very very useful . Just stick a basic cheap threaded hood on top of it.....

The fs100 is so bright that you really need one.

Those LCW Faders look interesting - at 1/3 of the Heliopan price, they offer 2 advantages over it:

- smart anti-vignette system (with 1 diameter stop difference between the inner and outer parts)
- external thread for sunshade

Has anyone compared their performance with that of the Heliopan?

Yes, I hear what you’re saying but this is an FS100 forum, so that is why I worded it the way that I did.

Anyway, I already have a Heliopan variable ND filter, the best variable ND in my opinion and I am looking to
get a UV filter, Polarizer filter, Warming filter, Softening Filter, and Gradual filter. I believe using filters on camera is
much better than adding the look in post. The less I have to do in post the better the image I end up with in the
end.
I want to get the best glass at the best price, so I thought I would ask some of the users on the forum what
their using with their FS100. I shoot with the 18-200mm stock lens, not a bad lens by the way and I also have
Leica Summicron R F2 35mm and 50mm lenses for more serious work. I would think that most of the users
out there are doing the same, but I don’t know maybe not.

I guess many users on this forum are coming from the film/video side and so use combinations of square/rectangular filters.
Once again ND (and graduated ND) being essential. Schneider make great filters, there's also Tiffen and Lee.
There's a page on the Schneider site featuring some interviews with DPs talking about their favourite filters, and why.

Whatever brand you choose it basically comes down to preference (except ND for the FS100, which is of course mandatory!)
For me I like ND Attenuators and a Polariser for exteriors, but I will also use diffusion and colour enhancement too.
