Best filmic Narratives shot on Canon 5D MkII

Has anyone seen/know of any great narrative dramas shot on the Canon 5d Mk II?

I've been looking everywhere and I can't find any, which is why I'm holding off my guns getting it despite the manual controls. I haven't been that impressed with the 'look' so far, maybe its because of lack of 25p/24p.

I didn't find Reverie filmic or a drama (but a very nice advert for excessive wide-open lenses and helicopters), and I don't care for test shots.

The Canon 5d films may be playing in festivals which is why they're not online, but there must be some good cinematic shorts of at least trailers out by now right?

No no no. It's funny cause Daniel answers this same question about once a week for the last three weeks or so.

First it was me, then it was Ian-T, then it was Filthrich, now you. LoL.

Trust me, you aren't the only one that couldn't find any narrative stuff. It's elusive! Like Dinosaurs, only I know where you can find Dinosaurs but I'm not telling.

It's not my job to sell cameras so I won't try to convince you or anybody else. If the 5D does not impress you, find another

Besides, it should not be about what others have done with it, but what you can do with it. There is so much more to making a good film than the camera...

The camera does impress me, the video quality and the stills are amazing. I've been making shorts with the Nikon D90 and they're playing in festivals right now, and I seriously am considering the canon 5d.

It just plain eludes me why I haven't seen any footage from it. It's aesthetically more pleasing than most things I've seen on the TV and the s16mm cams and betacam cameras at my film school.

I've watched most of the links on that vimeo page. Ack... is it the 30 to 24p vimeo motion that looks dodgy to me?

I'm kinda digging this teaser from that channel http://vimeo.com/5133770

LOL BandanaDan...you are where I was less than a week ago. I've since learned that it's all about what you put in the search box. Since then...I've seen some real nice stuff.

Yeah Johnny I liked that one too.

This is a real good one:

Did you decide on the 5dii over the GH-1? Or are you waiting?

Actually I want to eventually get both. I'll probably get a couple GH1s first for a couple web series ideas I have and I wanna do em handheld/run-gun. But my gut feeling is if I have both I would probably go to the 5Dmkii unless I need overcrank or extreme run-gun. Just a gut feel, wont know till then. But the field is wide open and there are a bunch off cams on the not to distance future... so exciting. I'm looking forward to the 2nd gen Canon and Nikons, should be freakin ripping!!!!!

Edit: oopsy this question wasnt for me :)

Hehe. That's ok. So how do you guys think the resale value on the canons will hold up when the next generation of all of these babies comes out? Hopefully pretty well because it is still one of the very best still cameras you can get from what I hear.

strange how almost none of the 5DMII stuff has dialog. one of the links posted here is the first i've seen to even have a single line.

is it really that hard to accomplish? does this camera really require a big field recorder/boom operator to get good dialog?

would the zoom h4n be sufficient for a 5D only, dialog-heavy, production?

I'd say that the h4n is required equipment for usable audio.

 you sure you looked at all the links..? Most of the films in the narrative channel have dialog.

just went back and watched the first 30 videos instead of picking and choosing. 12 of them had dialog. and a few of those were very spotty, slipping in and out of actually being audible...

and a lot of them were "narratives" in only the broadest, most lenient sense of the word...

you're right though, "almost none" is an exaggeration but then, so is "most".

I know what you mean, and I agree.

The difficult part about adding to the list is trying to figure out what belongs. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes not. I don't think it's all that important, can't please everyone.
