Best External Audio recorded to use for GH2

I am looking to get an external audio recorded for my GH2 and I think I have pinned it down to two models. the Zoom H4N and the Zoom R8. does anyone have any better knowledge on what they believe would be better to go with? or pros cons etc.

Do you really want the best external recorder, or do you want the best that fits a particular budget?

Do you have any other audio gear which will be used with the recorder... Mixer, boom, mics?
 
I do want a good recorder, but I do have a budget, I can afford either one of those or something maybe a little more expensive. Right now I do have some other basic gear, for what I am doing right now I am using some wired mics, But I will be saving up for a shotgun and wireless lav as well. As a more overall picture, I am just in the beginning stages of getting equipment, but the external recorded is needed for a weekly shoot I currently do.
