Best Encoder?

Which one delivers the highest quality encodes, which is the fastest, and which ones do certain tasks better than the others ?

Apple's Compressor
Adobe Media Encoder
Handbrake
Sorenson Squeeze
Telestream Episode

I find MPEG StreamClip to be the best all-around. It's fast and the results are clean. The only thing that I find myself using Compressor for anymore is prepping for the rare client-requested DVD, since it has the preset to generate the demuxed video and audio files.

FCPX (i.e. compressor) Vs Media Encoder: FCPX Wins
Faster and with better color accuracy when converting prores to h264.

Primarily for web so traditionally h264, budget high, just want to know what is best.

What I do usually, is export the timeline from Media Composer in DNxHD (large files, but plenty of room to work on compression from there) and then I feed VidCoder with it, and compress to the desired bitrate/file size.
I've encoded pretty much all my short films that way since 2 years. It's also a free software. I can also link the XML settings to use with it, from what I've tested.

Sometimes it's not about the best but the most useful (using internal encoders you often save time by not having to render twice). So for me Adobe Encoder from within Premiere.

Sure, you save a lot of time as you render straight from the timeline, to the final video.
Media Encoder is fine for your needs? Last time I used it, for personal projects, I didn't liked the quality of the picture compared to other software, like VidCoder.
