I have been trying to find this one thread or post somewhere on this forum...IIRC I think the person was using a F35 and the BMPCC (pocket) with some kind of Russian lenses (or maybe anamorphic lenses or both...IDR).
But the images were amazing and I think it could be a good choice based on the RAW flexibility and the very organic film look the camera produces (just like the F35).
See the example footage of the A7 III on youtube. For $2k it's a great deal. I'd pick that over the A7S2 at this point (until the A7S III is out- no release date yet, though speculation is around July based on an A7S III book release date. A7S III rumored to get the new VENICE color science: if true, will be a killer camera).
I think you miss point of the thread. I didn't ask most awesome DSLR or DSLR that looks venice. I ask best match for F35.
I don't know. I see nothing in blackmagic image that looks F35. But BMPCC is also not even S35. I said I want FF if possible but S35 is minimum. Why so many suggestions of small sensor cameras? I think BMPCC is like 16mm? New BMPCC is GH5 small sensor. Blackmagic quality also risky.
I see similarities between F35 and Alexa footage, so staying within range of that color science would be my focus. A GH5 with V-Log (All-I 400Mbps ) or the BMPCC/BMCC (RAW) might be better matches in that effort than anything from the recent Sony A7 series. There are several F35 LUT's available that could also assist.
They are small sensor. I also think blackmagic and panasonic color has nothing to do with F35. But maybe I'm very wrong.

Most people use SpeedBoosters to bring it up to S35...Blackmagic quality isn't risky; quality-control is.
I think you also need to be a bit more polite when people try to help you out. (Not to me but others...)
I'm not sure many people would have a good answer for this question. I'm sure F35s have been paired up with DSLRs, but too small a sample group that I think very few people have tested a wide range of DSLRs with that purpose in mind.
Perhaps someone will have a good answer, but you could probably test it yourself. After all, you know better than any of us what your criteria and priorities are. If you do this test, you should post it here. Would be cool to see.
The 12bit 4444 image from the F35 is very robust with lots of color information. My initial instinct, and certainly my approach for B/C Cameras is, does the B or C camera have enough flexibility in post to get it close to the A-Camera without having to cripple the A-Camera too much. As such, cameras with RAW capability will help in this department...whence why people are suggesting the Black Magic Cameras (cheap, small, RAW). I'd probably prioritize bit depth and RAW capability over sensor size and form factor...but that's just my approach.
Anyways, best of luck!
I agree, and is one of the reasons why I mentioned the F3 and F23.
You're overthinking this to a destructive degree, there is nothing about the BMPCC/BMPCC4K/GH5S sensor size that would make it a bad match for the F35 at all.
If you want a camera which can be the best match with the mighty F35 then naturally that means choosing a camera which has top notch video for its class, and thus of course the likes of a GH5S or a BMPCC4K will always be on the tips of people's tongues to suggest first.
No speed booster thanks. Adds cost size and weight.
I think S35 is important. Match 16mm to F35 will just make it even more hard match. FF can be cropped to S35 at least. Yes RAW is good. But not if 16mm sensor for me. Sorry.
