Obviously you want to master the camera first but now that that's done, what are you're experiences working with these DOF adapters. Which one would you recommend for the HMC150?
Best dof adapters jag35, redrock or letus?

PERSONALLY.... I don't think using a DOF adapter makes it look "filmic". I think it makes it look "like you put on a 35mm adapter".
If you really want to achieve a DOF look.. I would either get a really high end DOF adapter (if you must get an adapter).

I would recommend the Canon 7d adapter?......

I have a couple HMC150s. One is fitted with the Letus Elite and I have a slew of Nikon lenses I bought off ebay. I recently purchased a 7D.
My opinion- If you are going to buy an adapter, get one with the back focus adjustment. That's why I purchased the Elite instead of the Extreme. With the Nikon lenses, rails, follow focus, I easily have over $3k in the adapter kit. The 150 with the adapter is tri-pod or jib only use. I tried it with a steadi cam and didn't like it.
The 7D is a great camera. I bought it with the 18-135mm lens AND the Zacuto Z Finder. I chose this lens as a "starter". I like the fact that it offers a nice range of wide and long options. For me the Z Finder was a no brainer. Focus is critical and with the Z Finder, even a novice like me can focus well enough to make out an object.
The cost of the 7D, lens and Z Finder is less than the cost of the Letus kit and it gives you a second camera.
The adapters are great for depth of field, but you can place your stock 150 further from your subject, zoom in and achieve DOF, if you like. And........... you can carry your 7D with you and not have people asking if you work for Discovery Channel.
Having both, the adapter and 7D, I will tell you that I use my 7D 80% of the time, 150 w/o adapter 15% of the time and 150 with adapter 5% of the time.
Here is some stock footage I shot this past weekend with the 7D in New Orleans. The 7D goes with me everywhere. Don't get me wrong, I love the HMC 150, but the versatility of the 7D enables me to take it anywhere.

I own the Letus Extreme for my HMC151 but if I had the chance I'd replace it tomorrow with a 7D/5D/1D .
The light loss is insane, it adds noise and softens the already non-hd HMC image.
If you insist on a 35mm adapter then take a look at the SGblade or the Letus Extreme.
I wouldn't put too much money on the expensive ones since the gain is not worth the expense.

so a RedRock Micro M2 35mm lens adapter w/ Nikon 50mm f1.8 on my hmc150 isnt gunna be that great???
Im a Indie film maker, do alot of short films and doing our first feature this summer, we definitely want some DOF with this video.. wondering how much the above can even give you? I HATE noise though...
