I know someone asked this before, but I lost the info.
What is the best deinterlace software for deinterlacing 60i footage? or **** 30i for that matter...

What is the point of deinterlacing video? Is this done to 60i to convert to 30p? If so, why not shoot in 30p in the first place (or 24p, then remove pulldown)?

digital fusion looks more like some badass compositing stuff such as Shake 3.5.
Im merely looking for the best app thats main purpose is deinterlacing. maybe a plugin for an NLE perhaps.

http://www.dvfilm.com Maker is a very good de-interlacer I just checked out last night. Also Joe's Filters if you're using FCP. Stay away from Magic Bullet, highly overpriced. It's nothing but a framerate adjuster and colorizer. Plenty of cheap framerate converters out there and you can learn to create your own looks with a couple of web tutz on colorizing, ie google "the saving private ryan look in AE" and a few should pop up OR 2pop or creativecow the look.

Yes, Digital Fusion is a compositing software, but a simple flow like:

"Loader -> Fields Tool - > Saver" will do the job with good control, or there is a nice plugin that analyse the footage removing the fields only when there is a moving object, if not both fields are kept to avoid resolution loss.

I thought Magic Bullet was one of the best De-interlacing software programs you could get? I mean....you pay a mint for it....but I thought it was the current *KING* because it did other stuff like film-looks and color correction? ~reservoir~
