HPX250: Best compressed codec for editing ACV footage.

Hi all, I've finally upgraded from FCP 7 to Avid MC 6 and was wondering what everybody who is using MC chooses for a codec.

I'm trying to stay away from ProRes for a few reasons and have chosen DNxHD 220x as an online and DV25 as an offilne codec. I've good luck with MJPEG also since plays nicely with the EVS decks. I need to keep 10-bit throughout so I can hand it off for grading and effects down the road.

I have enough bandwidth for uncompressed but space get eaten up rather quickly. But I do edit uncompressed for some smaller (60mins and under) projects.

I have been editing in Avid from the HDV days to P2 on the HPX250. Suggest you choose the camera codec to best fit the quality and conditions you need. Once in Avid, I import HDV, AVCHD, or P2 through AMA, and then immediately transcode to DNxHD. I use DNxHD220x for P2, and DNxHD145 for AVCHD & HDV. Editing is most efficiently done in DNxHD codecs, but you can edit in the AMA links to the original media for simpler projects.
