Best buy HD vs what we use

OK So I know there are tons of factors that go into producing good video. But I was at best buy the other day and was reading about a "HD" handycam they were selling. By the numbers it sounded pretty darn good. Now, I shoot with a 100B and I LOOOOVE it, but just how would one of these consumer HD cams compare??

Thanks!

I was always wondering the same. How can an HD, $1000 dollar camera, be better than a 3,000 dollar DVX? Or is it? It's HD isn't it? Sorry i'm just thinking out loud.

Simply put HD only means that it has a certain amount of resolution in the image. It doesn't measure image quality. The DVX also would have more professional features such as XLR inputs and a greater range of control over the camera in whole while you $1000 HD camera might only shoot in 60i and not be as controllable. These are just some of the differences in the cam
