Best behind the scenes

What movies have good or the Best behind the scenes footage. I have seen Collateral, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Troy. I loved all the behind the scenes stuff on those movies, what do you guys think???

All the stuff on the LOTR DVDs are great. I found the bonus features on Matchstick Men particularly interesting as it takes you through the whole process. Anything with Robert Rodriguez's name on it seems to have cool extra features.

Terry Gilliam's failed effort to bring MAN OF LA MANCHA to the screen. The behind-the-scenes documentary is called "LOST IN LA MANCHA." The flash flood washing away most of the grip, lighting and camera equipment is incredible.

LOTR was probably the best.. 2 discs of extras!
the Matrix 10 disc set was also amazing..
still have yet to check out RR's extras, heard they are good as well

there are several..
T2 and T3

the empire strikes back trilogy

freddy vs jason....

in addition to the ones mentioned already...

a few I enjoyed:
extra features on
-"Sixth Sense" Collector's Edition
-"Star Wars"

Direcor's Commentaries on
- "A Beautiful Mind"
- "Ronin"
- "The Bourne Identity"

i second ronin, very good directors track.

bowling for columbine had the worst, a bunch of interns all talking at once about nothing in particular.

i'd have to say LOTR has the best behind the scenes i've seen so far. but the matrix trilogy had some cool stuff also.

No one has mentioned Spiderman 2, awesome 2hr behind the scenes thing, very indepth. Good watching

i can't believe i forgot to mention, citizen kane has some amazing information in the two different directors tracks

one of them is done by siskel or ebert, i always forget which one, but some really deep stuff behind the scenes and the scenes and the logic that went into each one.

best making of features would be different than best "behind the scene" footage.

if u want to actually "see" how they made the movie, there is simply NOTHING as comprehensive as the first 2 seasons of Project Greenlight. each is rentable and about 8 hours long. the 3rd season is on TV right now

If u like a more Retrospective approach, the extended LOTR trilogy wins hands down. Personally, i think quality wise the 3 hour documentaries featured on the Alien quadrilogy set is superior but at twice the length, its hard to argue with LOTR

That documentary was great

If you want to see a successfull outing by Gilliam check out the documentary from the same directors (Fulton and Pepe) on the making of 12 Monkeys, it's called "The Hamster Factor and Other Tales of Twelve Monkeys"

Gilliam gave these guys full access on both documentaries and it is very revealing

Bad Boys II

Bad Boys II

Wow you guys really forgot Bad Boys II. they have a whole extra DVD. they have scene breakdowns, stunt work, visual effects, and awesome comparison between video and film.

If you are really into zombie movies, I thought the new Dawn of the Dead extra features were very insightful into the process.

thats the key, i pretty much don't care about what type of movie it is but the real world process stuff is fascinating.

i wish someone would go way overboard and do a 5 or 10 hour documentary on the making of some film.

something specific for people interested in the technical stuff.

they could sell it to film students in addition to just people like us.

One of the best is the Sacrifice by Andre Tarkofsky - very philosophical, less practical- Sven Nyquist is the DP as well.
