Best bag for AF-101

Hey guys,

I'm new here so thanks for having me!

I'm going to buy a AF-101 soon and I've been reading a lot of posts here as well as reviews and I almost have all my gear chosen.
The only thing left is the bag for the camera. What's your choices on bags for this camera?

The gear:
Panasonic AF-101
Charger and batteries
Voigtländer Nokton 25mm/0,95 MFT Lenses
Zoom H4n

I'm on a budget so for now only one pair of lenses will have to be enough, but i intend to buy more in the next months...

Thanks

I went with the PortaBrace DVO-2U. It has some pouches and nooks and crannies that fit all sorts of random gear.

Thanks Mike, that one seems great and it has a good price compared to other PortaBrace bags but it's still a bit expensive for me...
I kind of need a good bag that doesn't seem like a camera bag, I would prefer a Backpack case that seems like a normal bag but that has all the qualities of a camera bag. Unfornately thieves are more and more informed and PortaBrace bags screams "I've a camera, or expensive stuff, here" and I might go to places where that isn't good...

I'm a one man band and I'm going to do a documentary on the road in the end of the year... It's already with that in mind that I'm searching for a bag. Do you have any idea of a bag, or brand, with this description?

Thanks, I really appreciate it

If I need a backpack for documentary work I use ThinkTank Photo's Streetwalker HardDrive.

If I need a bigger bag I use their Airport TakeOff. This bag has backpack straps too, but their not intended for long treks.

Both bags meet International carry-on requirements.

Thanks a lot guys, meanwhile I searched for a bit and I found LowePro and it's great for what I need.

This is the one that I'm going to buy:

It has everything that I need and it's cheap. If I had the money I would think of PortaBrace, Cinebags, Crumpler bags design is also great... But for now this will have to do...

Hands down to Lowepro. This might be the most inventive bag that I found - http://products.lowepro.com/product/Magnum-650-AW,2139,22.htm

With the af101 - http://theeditman.com/blogg/2011/01/09/LoweproMagnum650AWForPanasonicAF101.aspx

I don't know how much you fly, but that bag does not meet International carry-on restrictions, which are 22" x 14" x 9".

Weight restrictions can often be got around by pulling cams, lenses, & batteries from the bag, & slinging them over your shoulder, or putting them in jacket pockets, but oversize is a red flag.

Often you'll get away with a slightly oversized bag, but sooner, or later, you won't. That will be a very bad day!

If you want it to fit in the overhead of a plane, fit comfy on your back, and not look like you have thousands of dollars in gear, I'd grab one of these.

I've had one for a while now, it's been ripped at points, tossed around, and never a problem. It'll even hold my 17inch Laptop without issue.
It holds my AF100, 7 Lenses, Batteries, Charger, GH2, Follow Focus, SD Card Case, Shotgun Mic, Lav, and Shock Mount.
12 x 24 x 10 inches - The only airline I've had problems with is American Airlines, which is why I won't fly their airline.
Even when it was checked that one time, everything arrived without damage.
On more than one shoot, I've been asked why I walk in wearing a rucksack.

Thanks, I forgot about that. I'm going to do most of my travelling in the road but it's good to have that in mind so I won't need to buy another bag later.

That bag is exactly what I had in mind... But it's a bit expensive, the prices get quite inflated here in Europe....

That one costs around around 500 dollars, the Streetwalker HardDrive around 250.

LowePro is quite cheaper here, I'm gonna go for the Pro Runner 350AW http://products.lowepro.com/product/Pro-Runner 350 AW,2183.htm

It costs 140 dollars and it has the right size to fly. The way things are I can't go for more expensive than this...

You can't buy what you can't afford. But as you get more gigs, keep it in mind. There is no shame in upgrading your gear to accommodate your budgetary needs. Just make sure you feel comfortable traveling with your gear in the bag and that it won't get damaged along the way. Otherwise, it's not worth investing in.
