Best B-Cam for Sony FS700?

Hello everyone,

Looking to upgrade my b-cam from a panasonic hmc-150 to something more comparable to the fs700 in terms of color space and sensor size. I am not ruling out dslrs, and would love it to be below $5k. Any suggestions? I have heard some solid things about the gh3 or 5dm3.

Thanks in advance!

Canon c100 gets my vote. Not much more than 5k. Super reliable with dual sd card record, professional audio, great image. The only thing I don't like about the c100 is the lack of good quality slow motion. And that is why I picked up the fs700. Have fun in your decision. Its a different decision for everyone. No camera does it all!

I second the FS100 and it's the low light king, better that the C100 and FS700 in low light.

So far as matched looks, the FS100 would be the way to go - and you can pick them up for a song used. The C100 has a great image too, probably better out of the box than either the FS700 or FS100 (in all it's 8-bit glory) it has nicer highlight rolloff, but it's not as close a match as the two Sonys are to each other.

Plus the Sony's share a lens mount, which is a big deal.

The advantage of the C100 is nice colors esp. skintones out of the box and integrated ND filters too. But a FS700 and a C100 in the same project will cause more effort in editing to match the look. If you dont mind and if you have already EF lenses it's a good choice. The FS100 will have a more matching look out of the camera instead.
