Best Aquisition Format for a Vegas7 edit ???

I have an upcoming hvx200 music video shoot which i plan to edit in vegas 7. Vegas 7 doesn't have a project template for 720p24pn (which i had hoped to use for the varicam settings). I see a template for 1080i24p (over 60). I would prefer 1080i24pa.
Anyway can someone please tell me what problems could crop up if i created a 720p24pn project? Will the previewing stink ? Will audio (pre-recorded music track) sync up ok?
I read that because of the way the hvx extrapolates pixels, i would only gain ~ 10% (perceived resolution added) by going to 1080i. I am willing to do this if i will have a smooth edit. I sure hate to lose the varicam FX though.
Please Advise...thanks :violin:

So are you going to be using the varicam as well as the HVX?
If so, the varicam does not shoot at 1080, it only shoots 720. Also it does not shoot 24PN, that mode is only on the HVX. The varicam always shoots 60 frames with the 24 frames (when in 24p) being flagged and later extracted on capture to your NLE.
If you are just using the HVX, then 1080 will give the best resolution but you can't do any slo-mo shots in camera. Either way you shouln't have a problem with sync.

Just get Raylight, and then make a 720/2pN project. It'll work fine.

Note, you cannot use Vegas with the HVX if you don't have Raylight (or some form of file conversion software like CineForm).
