Benro H8 Fluid Head Review

Finding an affordable fluid head can be a difficult road to travel. I've heard so many good things about Benro but haven't tried them yet, so in my quest to find a good deal I decided to give the Benro H8 a go.

As most things that are a good value they have their quirks but if you cant afford a $1000 and up fluid head the Benro H8 is pretty nice. I do wish the counterbalance was more forgiving in between settings and one more drag setting on both pan and drag. All in all a nice fluid head at a decent price.

I also have the Benro S6 to test out for smaller cameras like the GH4 and A7s. The H8 is not for cameras that weigh less than 5.5lbs. The counterbalance is to strong in the first setting.

Thanks for this review. I'm looking forward to your take on the S6, since most of us here would like something for their DSLRs, especially the smaller ones like the Sony and the m4/3 crowd. And I guess the carbon legs tripod - is it the same one Benro sells as a kit with all their heads?
 
I bought the C3770TN on ebay because I liked the design better than the kit version they sell in the US. After I bought it I found out the Induro is made by the same company basically. It shares pretty much the same design as the C3770TN with a few differences. I like the legs a a lot. Well their goes that review! :-D
 
would u recommend the h8 tripod kit for a bm4k? would like to upgrade what i have without breaking the bank. tried getting some pans and tilts with my el cheapo setup and i found it quite lacking (and quite jumpy). TIA

I haven't tried the new tripod out but like I stated in the review the head cam be quirky in between counterbalance settings. The camera has to hit the minimum weight or it will bounce back.
