BenQ SW2700PT is an Affordable Video Editing and Color Grading Monitor

I don't know it...but it has 79 5-star reviews! (It's one of the most rated monitors on the site.)

I am pretty simple and I can live without the special features and would personally prefer a 27"+ with decent resolution for no more than 200 bucks, lol.

I'm wondering how much better these monitors are today for color accurate work than the Apple Cinema Displays?

I have 2x 24" Apple Cinema Displays from 2010 and I understand they were pretty top line in the day - do they still hold up or compare well to these newer monitors? I would really like to add a 27" monitor, but if the Cinema Displays are still rocking, instead of getting a 27" NEC I might look at a used 27" apple cinema display for closer to $300. Thoughts?

Or, perhaps this ASUS one:

Just wondering if I've been working with the Apple Cinema Displays and they aren't quite as "pro" as I thought, then maybe the ASUS there is just as good if not better that what I've had? $250-$400 is much easier to swallow than $1000. I am do pro level work but not for hollywood/tv and do end-to-end (write, shoot, edit, color, etc.) not a full time colorist.

This is the Apple Cinema Display specs I could find:
http://www.everymac.com/monitors/ap...s/apple-led-cinema-display-24-inch-specs.html

But archived forum posts around the net seem to indicate its not really a monitor for pro colorists?

Just not surte anymore if I need something as high-end as that $1000 NEC...

Thanks for help!

Wondering why no one is buying the Dell 5K monitor? I have bought it last year and is quite good.( not expensive either)

Anyone have opinions about using an older higher end NEC, like the PA272W-BK-SV vs say a newer cheaper HP Dreamcolor or BenQ mid tier 10bit panel?

+1 to Dell

purchased one many years ago for stills and it still looks great.

I have a colour calibration app that runs every time the computer is started

Dell has some interesting options too.

I've used some of those photographer's budget monitors. the BenQ I used in particular was better than the Asus cheap it was paired with, but still I felt the BenQ was a little consumerish.

But we had this discussion in the thread about TV's. LED tech keeps getting better. And as 10bit starts spreading into cheaper models, and uniformity seems to be improving, has anyone gotten a sense that a $600 photographer's display can compete or out perform a $1500 model from 4 or 5years ago?
