FS5: Before I buy the shogun inferno?

I have the Fs5 with the raw upgrade and I am trying to find an answer before I pull the trigger on the shogun. I foresee not always needing prores raw, and really what I would like most of the time out of the camera is UHD or 4K 422. Can I record a smaller file out of the sdi or hdmi that will give me not so huge file sizes and get the 422 in 4k?
I have a mac pro late 2013 16 gigs of ram and it will not play the prores raw files without dropping lots of frames. I have downloaded several files and they won't play smoothly, and I don't want to fight the noise in an interview shot for example that I would get from the raw out.
But in 4k the Fs5 is very limited for me with that 420 internal recording. I really want the 4k 422 and I know the recorder will record a prores LT for example in 422 but I don't know if that is what the camera will export 422 without it being in the raw out over sdi.
I hope I am being somewhat clear.
thanks

The FS5's HDMI 4K output is supposedly 4:2:2 but only 8-bit (common output among mirrorless/DSLR cameras).

So if that's correct, you will get the 4K in 4:2:2 in any ProRes flavor that's available on the SI, but it's really not much of a difference compared to the 4:2:0 without the 10-bit recording. The SDI output is limited to HD (when not shooting RAW).

Shogun Inferno can also record the raw signal as a full 10-bit DCI-4K ProRes (LT/422/HQ) file at much more sensible bit rates. I've very rarely delivered anyone actual raw anything yet.

One of the huge bonuses I hadn't forseen was the simple ability to send that 4k raw signal out to the recorder while MAINTAINING an image on the LCD... so while shooting off-the-shoulder, I can just rotate the Shogun down and to the right as a client/producer/focus puller view, and have the LCD for my own monitoring and framing. Far beats trying to dangle that huge 7" monstrosity out front when operating off the shoulder.

IMO it hugely increases the flexibility of this camera.

mcbob, I bought the inferno last week and I am really liking it. shot the raw yesterday on a job outside with very challenging lighting and got wonderful results. sLog 2 raw out, prores raw on a parking garage rehab for a large construction company, clear sky and deep shadows couldn't be happier with my little fs5 and raw for stuff like that.
But I still haven't figured out the interview setup. I always shoot 4k and that internal 420 8bit is crippling me. So are you just setting the camera to the normal UHD internal and going out the SDI or the HDMI? and setting the recorder to standard prores HQ? I know the recorder will record 422 10bit but is that what is coming out of the camera? I have a picture profile that is dialed in for interviews and since I can always control the lighting I don't want the noise with slog and raw. It is also a workflow thing with prores raw, maybe I am thinking of it wrong but if I can control the light then raw isn't needed and just makes more work. But to get 4k 422 10bit out of this camera maybe that is what it takes.
