Hi All,
Here is my entry for an annual commercial contest.

Equpiment used:
GH1
Kit Lens
Nikon 50 1.4
Arri lights (shoulda softened them more)
Gini Rig
Glidecam 2000
Edited in Vegas.

Whaddaya think?
Areas for improvement?

Wow! Seriously very nice. I love the quickness of the edit matched perfectly, that quick impact really just had me rolling in laughter.

The only thing is maybe there's a lot of cigarette-smoking in it. It appeals to me(I'm a smoker), but for a commercial competition you might want the girl in the end sipping the beer instead of lighting up. Maybe it's just here in the US where everyone's all scared of ciggies. Good luck!!!

We were going for a 70's vibe... back in the days where you could actually smoke at work (luckily that was before my time).

I have to agree with xqzt. Lose the cigarettes. You don't really want to saddle your "brand" with the negative impact smoking brings with it.

I disagree.... I don't smoke, but think it fits right in with the 70's vibe and actually makes it better comically. I loved the cigs in the belt.. LOL

I thought it was a good as anything I see on TV. The music fit it perfectly. The background changes at "twisted steel and sex appeal (at 0:50 0:51) were also cool. I don't even know how you do that in Vegas.

I also seem to remember it's against US law to show someone drink alcohol in a commercial? They can hold it, pout it ETC but can't drink it.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090519203254AAbZwB8 It's yahoo so I don't know if I believe this and google is failing me right now. Anyway great commercial.

Looked pretty good as a 70's polyester ripoff.

There is one technical item that bothered me.

at about 47-50 seconds, there's the guys at the bar, they look 'hard to their right', then a shot of the woman looking to her left, on the right of the frame, then when the woman appears in the shot she is standing or coming into the frame not 'hard to their right', that is on the left side of the frame, but in the right of the frame, and so they are looking more 'straight' ahead, than 'hard to their right'.

I think she ought to be on the left of her frame, looking to frame right, for the single of her. Then I think a shot of them, far to their left, showing her coming to their right,
would have avoided this minor hickup... hick...

Bliane & Lowlypawn - these commercials are not for airing on TV so there's no regulations that really apply.

adys - used curves to crush blacks, bumped up yellows to give an aged look and threw on an 'old film' filter. I think that was about it.

I hate to say it but the cigarettes make the commercial look "official".For some reason people forget that..smoking ads, commercials were every where..and people were smoking on talk shows, variety shows ect...they even used to drink alcohol on these shows as well...good job..and the editing was top notch.

Loved it nicework ihart!!

I agree w/ Martti- hard light worked-

Smoking issue- I can see both arguments- but thought everything worked as is for sure!

Great talent all the way around
