Any other places that I can get good deals on the DVX100A? I have found deals on ebay for about $2,999.

I would also like to say this is my first post, so I guess I am new here. :D

Not that I know of, the avatar is from A Clockwork Orange. Just saw the movie a couple of days ago, and loved every minute of it.

Re: Been looking on Ebay...

Take it from me... I was way into ebay buying. I didn't think once of buying at an authorised dealer, I saw the low ebay lights and I decided to only look there. I thought I was smart too (about scams at least) but it wasn't untill a very close encounter w/ a hacked ebay accout (Whole story in cafe ala dvx) till I decided to look at authorised dealers. And I am getting my cam from EVS. It makes sense too. While you save maybe $300-400 off ebay, you gain back even more by having the security from buying from an official dealer, and you also get magic bullet and Barrys book/dvd. Its really a no brainer when you look at it that way

Re: Been looking on Ebay...

I have used eBay regulary for about 5-6 years. So far I have not been ripped off. Although there have been opportunities to do so. Just be careful. When interested in an item do some research on the seller. Check his feedback and make sure the feedback is from eBayers with a long history. Sometimes 1 person will open numerous accounts and buy/sell cheap items to the other accounts, thus building good feedback history. Hi-jacked accounts (as mentioned above) is the latest scam. There's not much you can do accept contact the seller and ask for verification of the item and it's location. Maybe request a photo with a newspaper placed on top. Seriously, if the seller is not interested in verfiying then they're not worth your business.

Most sellers on eBay are honest, but it's always the bad ones who ruin the party. Just go with your gut. There's always another auction around the corner.

Good luck!

Re: Been looking on Ebay...

I think he was referring to New DVXs and not used. The new DVXs on eBay are unauthorized grey market. Taking a risk of grey market to save a couple hundred bucks is not worth it.

Used stuff naturally is a different story. I buy stuff too and as long as you play safe you should be fine.

This, I guarantee ,will be a gray market camera, not a favorable position to be in. You will have no Panasonic US warranty, no copy of Magic Bullet and no copy of Barry's DVD and Book. In short, don't do it.

Best regards,
