...the one thing I didn't quite understand was when he wrote:

"With the adapter that I bought to use Canon lenses on the GH-1 you can't adjust the aperture settings on the lens".

Is this with all GH1 adapters?

Canon EF lens apertures are controlled via microchips. So, the adapters do not support aperture control. However, FD lenses have manual aperture rings, like he mentioned.

Ahhhh I see. I didn't realised he wrote "EF", my eyes saw it as "FD". Thanks for clearing that up for me mate!
