Hey I just tried to use a beach tek adaptor on my canon T2I
And I couldn't get any sound?
I figured it should work, because the beach tek has a mini jack

is it not possible to use a beach tek with a canon t2i?
could it be a setting in the menu Im missing?

The mini-out on my Beachtek broke, the cable coming from inside the unit sounds like a bad idea to me, not easily fixable. Check if that's the problem.

With a Juicedlink you could just replace the cable, since it only gives you a mini-out jack.

The Juicedlink is also a superior unit since it provides GREAT preamps. If get to try one you'll agree.

I had the exact same problem with a Beachtek on my T2i. Sounded fine monitoring but no sound on the clips.

I personally despise Beachtek products. They're low-tier equipment. Go with juicedLink if you HAVE to do sync sound. Otherwise drop $300 on a Zoom H4n and learn to sync sound in post - it's worth the small amount of hassle.

Just bought the T2i and have a beachtek DXA-2, not gonna work? Someone in tech with conclusive info either way....?

Just ordered the juiced-link dt454 from BH this am.
($410.62 on biz acct. and free shipping)

I used the Juiced-link cx211 previously and with very solid results so I am pretty confident that I will get the same with this new unit. (on a 7D)

I watched this http://vimeo.com/5370880 which of course I found posted here on DVXUSER and I was sold. (thanks again dvxuser's)

I do know that there is no perfect recording device for everyone but there is the perfect 'one' for YOU!

Why this is perfect for me:

  • I need audio/video recorded together.

  • My editing experience is nil and when shooting videos I am essentially a 1 man band.

  • The Juiced Link is a great fit for now and should be very good when mixed w/ solid mics.

(my mics: rode ntg-2, seinhauser (SP?) g2 lav)

Now... I can concentrate on learning more about the 7D... hmmm, where does this battery go....... LOL

Good luck with that! Glad to see someone going with what feels right other than just what they've been told.

Wow the Juicedlink DT454 has so many switches underneath, pretty confusing.

Feature-wise, sounds like a lot for such a tiny package.

I only have the CX 231 and it already feels like micromanagement.
