Im just trying to spread peace around here seeing as some of us can be really rude etc

First of all we're all here to learn,so when someone asks a question (no matter how silly it sounds) we should always remember that their asking because they want to learn,if you find the question to be silly just move on and let them be instead of being nasty.

People are different,if you grasp things really fast you shouldn't assume thats how it is with everyone.

It goes a long way to be nice!!!

to the left of it so you can report legitimate problems. there is something to be said for developing a thick skin if you plan to venture onto the internet, but for valid issues it's the best course of action you can take here.

DVXuser rocks for being non-confrontational, very rarely do you see arguments. I can't stand pissing matches and grudge arguments.

I'm actually quite impressed with the relatively rare issues on this forum, especially compared to most of them I visit.

not to mention it's a rule here :)

Now, we aren't trying to be all overly politically correct, but asking that you show each other a bit of respect is not asking too much. It also helps for a better experience for all, and tends to combat the increased lack of general respect often found on internet forums due to the quasi-anonymity...

Aha, someone finally said it--you really do need to thicken your skin when you venture onto the Internet. Sadly, warnings to play nice go unheeded. There's just something about the Internet that brings out the worst in us...along with all the amazing help, information and camaraderie out here too.

One thing I finally realized is things you say online can and do haunt you. I think in the "early days"--like 24 months ago--there really was the feeling that you could type something on a drunken Saturday night and it wouldn't matter. That our posts were ephemeral and inconsequential. But people read them. Remember them. Take them to heart. And unlike that dumb thing you said in front of your relatives last Christmas, these words posted online stick around for years.

So maybe that is the best note of caution for adopting some civility.

Thick skin, thick head, yadayada... and yes, the search feature sucks, so go ahead and ask as many times as you want, you'll get an answer... maybe not the one you were hoping for though. And screw you Horse, I was going to say that!

And screw you horse and self-appointed Capt! Screw you both... I've been wanting to get that off my chest, I feel much better now, excuse me, I have to go to therapy now, I've been using that "advance search" way too much and my brain needs unclogging.

Mostly it is because, like all internet forums, people feel more confident saying things here that they would never say to someones face.

Actually, I tend to be more restrained in these Public forums than I am in person. Ya'll ought to see me when I'm really wound...

Not to mention when you find out they have a dog. Then there's that old woman living next door who checks out any noises in the neighborhood who just does not want to go back inside. Really not worth the (hypothetical) effort.
