I'll be moving to Petaluma (near Santa Rosa) soon, and it would be nice to downsize my equipment and up my savings now that I'll be near cities. So, does anyone know of decent rental places with good deals on shotgun microphones near this area? I rarely use mine anymore, so I wouldn't mind unloading it if I have an alternative.

Congrats on the move!
On top of my head the only shops around the Bay that has the most selective group of shotgun microphones would be Chater Camera in Berkeley and Adolph Gassers in San Francisco.

I would also ask at Leo's Pro Audio in Oakland, though they are more concert oriented. And call Audio Images in SF, though I don't know if they rent. A lot of film related businesses have gone under in the last five years (300+ was the number I heard about a year ago) so the support has gotten thin.
