Batteryfire Logo Redesign

It seems that all I've been getting lately is offers to shoot rap/hip-hop videos. As part of my attempt to get some different clients this year, I'm working on a redesign.

I'm going for a hand drawn/indie/quirky style. Heres a couple ideas I came up with:

You can see the old site and logo here: batteryfire.com

I like the old one the best.
How does the old logo relate to what kind of clients you are getting? It would seem that would be more related to who you hang out with or know.

I don't want to change it because the old logo is getting me certain clients, it's also because I've been pitching to indie bands / companies, and want a different identity more in line with those clients. My current demo reel is what needs the most change, but I decided to work on the logo / website as well.

I would say don't use #1 which has disaster written all over it--not exactly what you want to project to potential clients--and #6 seems a bit nondescript to me. I would vote for #3, which changes the style of your logo, but has some continuity with your old design, or #4, which seems to have the best feel of the new possibilities. I also like the old logo, perhaps better than any of the new ones.

Why does #1 "have disaster written all over it"?

It looks like it got punched out. Like with the ol x's for eyes cartoon deal, imo.
And the unhappy smile I suppose.

I kind of dig 2 and 5 although I'd go with the 8 (vector battery )logo, looks more pro. I'm not diggin the fonts really.

Graphic from 4. But like Qurik said, it does look like a flaming latte. Put some negative space in it like in 8, and also use the flame from 8. The flame on it is too complex.

And I'm not sure about the font for 4. That kind of simple and straightforward design clashes with the font. Try something much simpler.

oh ok. The way you worded it it sounded like you were thinking a redesign would change your clients.
I still like the original the best.

I know I am in the minority here but I LOVE 3. Logo 3. Something about it is effective yet retro at the same time.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

I'll try and do some variations of the current logo, as a lot of people said they liked it more than the new ideas.
