I know there was discussion on this topic a while back but a few efforts in digging them up came up empty.

During a recent rugged shoot, my HVX's battery tabs broke and now gaffers is my savior. is there a known method/vocabulary for getting panasonic to fix this?

is it a warranty issue?

Thanks in advance, sorry my searching skills are less than powerful.

It is a warranty issue and they will fix it, but I believe they only do it once.
Once should be enough because the plate holding the battery has been redesigned to support the battery and avoid the problem from recurring.

I snapped my hvx battery tabs, but it was my fault as I tripped on the ac adapter and snapped them off. My dealer had to order the parts from japan, and it cost me close to 200$ in canadien funds.

Under warranty for the first time.. Second time they pay parts, you pay labor.. After they fix it the first time, it's pretty solid, just take care when setting the camera down anywhere with the battery mounted.

how can i see, if my 2 month old hvx has already the redesigned plate?

Cameras made after June 2006 have the new design. If the serial number of the camera starts with F6 or later (F is the month code, 6 is 2006), you're good.
