Hello,
what is the purpose of the switch on the backside of the battery? if you move it to the right you see small circular indentation. on the battery that came with the camera the hole is red. there is no mention of this in the manual. thanks for the help. i just got my DVX100a today and i'm anxious to get started but also a little nervous about doing something wrong.

Re: battery switch?

It does nothing but just a manual indication to remind yourself that the batt is flat.

Have fun!

Re: battery switch?

kohss, you need to take advantage of opportunities presented on this forum. ;)

Confused? Stick around... you won't be. ;D

Re: battery switch?

Isn't that a switchable "reserve" ? I thought I read on here that if you "un-switch" it, the battery charges up just a little more (or something like that). I'll have to search on it.

Re: battery switch?

Da red switch is there so you can use the battery to power your shaver, but it must be on red or you won't get the closeness you need ;D

Re: battery switch?

Michael I have been trying to figure that out also and have searched the forum but didn't find an answer.  I didn't post because I did not feel like putting up with stupid responses from someone who did not know the answer but was simply posting to post.  So ignore those and at least one person gave a good response that showed he was trying.

Re: battery switch?

The switch on the battery is to let you know which batteries in your case are dead and which ones still have juice.

It's a dead battery indicator.

Hey woah. The answer was given in the first response. though I admit my response was a little insensitive to the original question and put up for fun more than anything, at least I didn't call the person stupid. You can breeze by the responses you feel are inapropriate without comment and post your answer to the question without passing holyer than thou judgement dont you think?
Respectfully

Mino.

Re: battery switch?

Thanks Phil. Sorry Mino...I didn't understand the terminology he was using. Since the second answer made it look like he was joking around, I thought he was.
