battery switch?

dumb question, but what does the little switch on the bottom of my DVX battery do? I'm talking about the one with the red indicator on it.

thanks.

Pookie just told you

It does nothing. Red is 'Out of juice'. It's a visual reminder/reference. Flick the switch when the juice runs out and you'll know if it's out of juice later.

Now thank Pookie for his answer.

wait, I don't get it. so it's red......when the battery's out of juice........but it's always red. (I'm sure this is a lot simpler then I'm thinking)

GOta give this one to sony.. their little "battery status switch" is built so that ehn you stick the battry in teh charger it pushes it back in, so it shows charged when you pull it off the charger.. neat little trick.

Can't take credit for this one, but another trick is to keep your good batteries in zip-lock bags. In bag: changed, out of the bag, empty/used.
