HPX250: Battery run time

It's not as good as my HVX200 with the same batteries - I would say about 70% of what my HVX would get.

I find that somewhat surprising given that one of the goals with the new sensors was lower power consumption. Were you recording AVCIntra or DVCProHD? Encoding the former definitely requires more computing power and could bring with it an increased power consumption compared to the latter.

I don't have my HPX250 yet -- it won't ship for another ten days or so -- but I might conduct some experiments when it gets here.

Don't forget that batteries will usually not develop their maximum capacity until about 4 or 5 charge-discharge cycles.

I did hear that it may use more power if you're shooting AVC INtra 100. What kind of useful battery life are you getting?

Within 15min, I lose the first tick of the battery meter then it stays on the second for an hour or so. I have not run the entire battery down but I would guess around 2-2.5 hours. Maybe I'll run a test.
