Battery Life

I've heard that the battery on the hd100 lasts for a very brief ammount of time... Does anyone know of an 8 hour battery for the camera? What are the recommendded pakcages? I'm interested in using this camera on long shoots and I'm curious to know what you guys recommend for this kind of demand...

The only way to go would be with Anton Bauer or IDX type batteries. You can get a two-battery IDX system for around $1,000, between the two batteries they should last about 8 hours.

And some IDX-batteries you can piggy-back... So 8h is possible then. Here in europe: IDX-battery-adapter + 2 batteries (that you can use to piggy back) + charger is more like €2000 .... (close to $3000)

DOH! Man, you Europeans just can't catch a break! That's nutty pricing.

Have you checked with JVC? The $1,000 package I'm referring to is actually a JVC offering, IIRC. Maybe they have a special bundle deal or something?

Yep, I've seen it, but I've never seen it available here... (perhaps I'm mistaken, but if it was available here, it would probably cost 1500 euro's = +/- $2000)

The price here in Portugal for the IDX-100-E kit that includes an adaptor A-E2HD100, VL-2 CHARGER and 2 ENDURA -7s 14,8V-71W/h is €1425 ($1675) +VAT. Those batteries Mezelf is talking about are the E-7 and they cost even more. I will purchase the IDX mount with 2 95W/h batteries and charger from PowerLok at my dealer in UK. It will cost about €1000 ($1175)... more power for less money.
