How much shorter should I expect the battery life to be on my dvx100b 5400mah battery when I use a mic with phantom power at 48 volts?

Honestly, I never really notice any shorter battery life with either both channels engaged or both off.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

really? because i just had it plugged into a mic and in like 20 minutes in went down half a bar. probably didn't do something right...

the stock one that comes with the dvx100b, which is the BIG one lol

looks about this size

I calculated it out once, I think phantom results in something like a 3% to 5% shorter overall battery life experience. Definitely less than 10%.

ok i'll find out tonight when i'm doing the family's christmas party :P battery better not die halfway through. all i got is some backup 1200mah battery which won't even last half an hour on the dvx

The draw (drain) is nearly insignificant. Don't worry about it.
I run phantom all the time and never noticed any difference.
