Does anybody used successful a follow focus with a 50mm lens and mattebox? The one I have on the Letus rig will hit the bofy of the D90/D5000. Also, how much of recording do you get with one battery?

Talking about baterry life, i founded that the nikon D90 has a poor performance... i use to work all night and with my Canon 400d in so many acossion i had to charge in the middle of the session, but with Nikon D90 you must always have your charger in your bag.

2 batteries will get you right on the boarder of an 8 hour day. One should never live on the edge when it comes to battery life on shooting. 3 should do the trick. I do have a follow focus and a mattebox for my camera. Matte boxes and follow focus units a pretty universal. The rail system may require a riser plate / shims. I am using Zacutos Lens gears, so far they have done there job well.

For long shoots I highly recommend picking up the MB-D80 Multi-Power Battery Pack. Plus, it adds a little more size and heft to the camera making it easier to hold steady and also giving the added benefit of making it look like a bigger more "pro" camera to the untrained eye.
