Battery help?!

I have a DVX100A that's a few years old. I hadn't used it much until recently. I have 2 batteries - both which say they are fully charged - and then about 10 minutes later - they are empty.

Do these go bad? Or am i doing something wrong?

Thanks!

are the batteries a couple years old too? also, have you abused them? (extreme heat/cold/humidty) i could be wrong but i think li-ion batteries also need to be used regularly(discharge/charge) or else they go bad.

yes - the batteries are the same age. I'd say 3 maybe 4 years tops. it's just strange to see them deplete so fast.

li-ion batteries need special treatment. When they re new you have to fully charge/discharge them a couple of times before regular use, however if you can always let them fully discharge before charging is the best. If you dont use them for a long time you have to store them charged

This is not true, Li-Ion batteries do not need to be treated as you describe. Not supported by technical literature, or practice. Please do not spread erroneous information.

To answer the original question in this thread, your batteries are most probably dead, they last about 3 years on average, but sometimes die sooner than that. More on the subject is at FAQ
