Battery Hack . . . Anybody know one?

I just bought some after market batteries and, to my dismay, discovered that Panasonic used their firmware updates to make it impossible to use batteries not manufactured by Panasonic. Anybody know a workaround?
Always used aftermarket bats on my DVX. Panasonic, you make me sad

I bought one hacked.My firmware is 1.2.
It works very well

Bought mine from BestBatt.com, works perfectly with the new firmware for the GH1, was cheap too.
