Battery for the EX1

Now that I can record 4 to 8 hours on cheap KxS cards, I need power/battery. Is/are there any other alternatives to the BP-U60 ($240 B&H)? I now that for the Sony Z1, there are tons of third party batteries for it. I wonder if there is any cheaper battery for this EX1 or at least a portable power pack for this camera that does not cost $240 or if it does, it last longer than the BP-U60 battery pack.

Thanks for the quick response. So the SWIT S-8U62 can be used to replace the BP-U60 battery but, will I be able to use the charger that came with my EX1 to charge the SWIT S-8U62 battery?

Okay, I'm a bit slow on this battery/power thing so forgive me here. So I would first, buy the IDX batteries, then hook that up with the V-Plate or mounting plate and that plate will go in the back of my EX1 battery spot, correct? Then what is the d tap cable use for? Will you also point me to the battery that will last at least 6-8 hours shooting?

I found a bunch of V-Mount batteries here but boy, they are darn expensive. The SM-4010 battery cost $385 and last about 5.75 hours. If I purchased the swit battery, it cost me $358 for two and lasted about 8 hours. I hope there are other cheaper batteries out there besides those I've linked above.

We're using the SWIT batteries with Zylights on all our EX1's.
We have tested them for a few weeks now and they perform great.

Not exactly, you 'll need to get a connector that will fit DC in on the back of EX, and solder the wire to the v-lock plate contacts
v-lock mounting plate that goes straight to the battery cavity on the back made for JVCs only (as far as I know)

d-tap allows me to power EX and monitor , or light from the same battery,
and endure elite will last close to 8 hours with monitor, and longer if you'll power just EX, I can't tell for sure, I've never ran out of power, my shots are 4-6 hrs, I only judge by the remaining power in the battery

Thanks for answering my questions. However, it seemed quite complex just to power up my EX1 camera. Is there any detail instruction step by step to do this as I'm an idiot when it comes to soldering things.
