Hi everyone. I am looking for extra battery for my hmc40. I wonder how long can work standard battery which comes with camcorder? I need power for 5-6 hours. And couple more questions:

1. Do i need another charger for replacement battery or I can use standard one which comes with camcorder?
2. What do you think about this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Battery-Panason...es_Chargers&hash=item51981ff400#ht_3055wt_907
Do you think will it work with HMC40?
3. What is charging time for standard battery in standard charger?

the battery that come with the camera last 3h 19m

The bigger battery last 7h 58m

im not sure if i would buy a battery from ebay

Thanks for reply. So standard battery is not so bad. Like I said i need power for around 5 -6 hours so it means if i got another standard battery i should be fine. I need it only for one time so i don't want to buy battery for 150. Any suggestion what can I buy.
And how long is charging?

In all honesty you only need 1, 2 of these batteries tops. The HMC40 quietly sips on battery juice like it's nothing. Meanwhile I burn through several of the same batteries with the HMC150 going all day :(

Hi Guys

I have two VBG6 Generic Batteries and they seem to last around 250 mins on the HMC80 BUT after about a year they tend to start fading..they are great for backup at the price....Now, get a genuine Panny VBG6 battery and yes, it will last for at least 5 hours or a lot more. At weddings I cannot run down a Panasonic genuine battery but the "replicas" fade quite quickly!! If you don't mind doing a change after 3 hours ..then the cheap ones do work!!! I think my generics cost me around $40 and the real McCoy's were nearly $300!!! I have already tossed out two generics but at $40 they paid for themselves. For real critical work (like wedding ceremonies) I only use the Pansonics and then use the cheaper ones during the reception where I can always reshoot non critical stuff if the battery fails!!
