GH2 Battery for GH2 that plugs into wall?

When it comes to batteries and adapters like this, your best bet is to go with the official Panasonic version, which runs around $80 total (two parts, ordered separately). The extra few bucks spent is well worth it, as these cheaper adapters can lack decent quality control, and have the possibility of shorting your camera.

I use the OEM Panasonic DCC8 ($20 at Amazon), together with a 3rd party AC adapter ($25 at Amazon) - instead of Panasonic's overpriced $60 AC8 adapter.

At $45 total, my setup is a little more expensive than the $21 3rd party solution, but the part that goes into my camera comes from the people who manufactured it.

Everything I've linked to is available on Amazon Prime, so, if you're a Prime member and order today, your items should get to you on Saturday. Hope that's soon enough for your weekend shoot.

Good luck,

Bill

The adapter inside the camera is just an empty plastic box with two wires. You can make a replacement out of wood (done before)
Just make sure you are inputing the right power 8v.

I need to film 10+ hours this weekend and only have 1 battery. Where is the best place to buy a gh2 battery/charger that plugs into the wall.

if i get this will it work?

or

- and with an extension chord to reach a longer distance?

Is there a better place to buy or do both of those look good?

Both of them should work, although I like the second one better. It looks like the DCC8 is the original Panasonic one or a very good copy.
The DCC8 itself is about $15.00 so the price is very good.
Good luck.

Just FYI, some of the kits come with non standard size plugs. Panasonic uses 1.7mm plug in their AC adapters and matching connectors in DCC8 adapters. The Ebay kits would work if you never have to connect their DCC8 to the OEM Panasonic plug. The reason it came up, some of our customers who bought our Power Plate adapters (we use correct 1.7mm Panasonic plugs), could not use them with their Ebay bought DCC8 adapters.
