battery charging and good habits

hi. I've been using my dvx100b shooting concerts. Normally i use the same 5400mAh battery and have no problem with it lasting through the whole concert. Of course I'd like to keep it that way as well. So when I get home and want to recharge this battery for the next time is it a good idea to get into the habit of depleting the battery entirely b4 charging or just charge it up then and there. My hunch is the former, but sometimes my thoughts get to feelin' lazy...

Nope, no need to deplete the battery...just charge it as is. These batteries don't develop any memory like older style batteries, so just plug them in as soon as you're done using it.

I wondered the same thing but I always just charged it back up.
Wouldn't think de charging it would be a good thing.

Lithium-Ion Batteries
Lithium-Ion batteries (sometimes rendered Li-Ion) are the pinnacle of camcorder battery technology. They offer quick charge times, long life, steady discharge characteristics, low weight and small size. A Lithium-Ion battery offers about 40% more charge capacity than a NiCd battery of similar size and weight and can be fully charged in less than half the time.

Lithium-Ion batteries do not suffer from the memory effect.

Unlike the other technologies, you can (and should) keep your Lithium-Ions fully charged: go ahead and top off a battery that is 90% charged back up to 100%. Otherwise, care and handling is the same as with the other batteries: Keep Lithium-Ions cool, dry and safe from shock. Be sure to recycle them when they’re ready to be discarded.

LITHIUM- ION
PROS No discharge required; Can be recharged in any condition; Almost 40% more power and 50% lighter than standard NiCd; No memory effect; Environmentally friendly

CONS Expense; Internal resistance approximately double equivalent size and quality NiCd, so poor performance with high current applications (such as a digital camera with light).
