Battery Charger the same from old days?

Hi I've got a HVX202...all set for flight to Germany tomorrow...with supplied battery charger - DE-A20.

My Dad is travelling to Europe with me...he's got my old Panasonic MX300....with a Charger called VSK0592.

The batteries seem to fit on both...can we save some weight here?

Will one charger do the job for both batteries...or am I likely to fry the MX300 batteries on the new charger?

The stats on the back say:

MX300 charger VSK0592
Output 7.9V - 9W Video Camera
8.4V - 2.4A Charge

HVX Charger
Output 7.9V - 1.9A
8.4V - 1.2A Charge

Don't want to fry anything....but don't want to take 2 chargers if I just don't need them both!!

Thanks.

You are OK, one charger will work for both.
8.4V is standard charging voltage for all small camera batteries. Even other brands: Sony, Canon.
