Battery/Case/Tripod

Hey, I'm considering buying an HPX170 and was wondering if it took DVX/HVX batteries and what would be the best for it?

Also what would be a good tripod if I plan on using a 35mm adaptor later on? Thanks.

DVX/HVX batteries should work with it. I usually tend to stick with Panasonic batteries since they are more reliable.

As for the tripod I have a Libec T72 with a H55. It seems to work pretty well with my Redrock M2 Encore and MicroX rig. The only downside is that there are only two settings to for the fluid drag, but the pan and tilts are really smooth.

James,

I owned a DVX100A camera and then moved to the HPX-170. The batteries from
my DVX worked fine with the HPX. You'll have no problem there.

The tripod comes down to $$$$$$.

I have a couple of Manfrotto's. One is lighter for "less is more" shooting and one
is definetely heavier for using with my Kessler Crane.

The important thing is getting a "fluid head" for smooth pans/tilts.

Good luck on your quest.

Mark
