How long does a fully charged battery last while the DVX is running? I'm asking this question because for whatever reason my batteries always seem to run out really quick. I go through two batteries and I haven't even finish with a 63min tape. Is that normal?
 
you using the dvx100A or the B? the B stock battery is supposed to last like 4-5 hours but the stock A battery is only like an hour and half.
 
I would suggest getting the batteries sold on this site. They last up to five hours and I've rarely had to change during a shoot.
 
Find out the capacity of your battery in mah and plug in the number in the battery run time calculator on our site. Use 800 ma for DVX100 power draw.

they never last as long as they say if you turn off the camera, start and stop recording constantly, etc....
 
I'm using the stock A battery plus two other spare batteries. One's 3500mAh and the other is 4000mAh. I swear they never seem to last more than 2 hours. I guess I will just have to stock up on more batteries, maybe get a 5400mAh.
 
ShamanEyes, are the 3500mah and 4000mah from eBay? In my own expeience, the eBay batteries capacity labels are grossly exaggerated; 4000 mah really means ~3200mah. Also, figure in about 10%/year aging factor.
 
you definately have to get a couple of 5400mAh (you can buy from this site). I carry around 4 of them to play safe. Keep the smaller ones to carry in your trousers pocket for emergency battery fail. If you are not satisfied by the duration of the 5400's check your camera. The 5400 is a beast and should last long. As regards the 3500's & the 4000's don't expect more than 2 hours especially with the Lcd screen on.
