Batteries for Sony HDV

Hi everyone,

After months of deliberation, i finnaly plunged in and purchased a Sony FX7... didn't want to wait for the HMC150 cause i could get the Sony now, for much less. It should suit me perfect because i still edit in SD and i need the 20x zoom... but wouldn't you guess it, an hour after I confirmed my order, camcorderinfo.net announced the successor!

I was just wondering if anybody uses any cheap third-party batteries for their FX7/V1/Sony cams?

The camera has drained me of my funds and i dont think i can fork out another AUD$290 for an extra bettery yet!

Cheers,

Hi John. You can use any generic F-series battery for the FX7. It's the same battery used for the DV based VX2100 or PD170 series, or for their common sony 20 watt video light (and other things). Try ebay for the F960 or F970 batteries, under $30 USD.
