Batteries as weight for a rig?

I have a Rig I use for an FS100, but it's heavy in the front and hard to carry on my shoulder after a while.

I was going to buy some weights for the back, but do some people use Batteries for this? If so, which type of battery should I be getting? And how do I power a camera with this? Don't know much about this at all, any help would be appreciated!

This is easy to do. You can use either Sony V-Mount or Anton-Bauer Gold Mount plates as a power supply for the camera. There are some plates available with mounts for standard 15mm rod systems, or you can get a mounting plate and a rod-mount plate to attache the battery mount.

The battery mount should have the proper output connection for your camera's power supply.

Yeah! +1 for a good V-Mount brick at the back of the rig.

This is EXACTLY what I do. And with the extra weight of the mounting plate it really works well as a counter balance.
