Here is a short article I wrote tonight after being down in Chi-Town with Batman and his car! There is also a video at the bottom.

So here is the deal. I read that Batman Begins was being filmed on Wacker Drive in Chicago. I decided to head down there. I called one of my film friends up to see if he wanted to tag along and see if we could get some cool "Behind the Scenes" shots with my Panasonic DVX100a. My friend told me he would and that he just spoke with one of his friends who was working as crew for the shoot. I guess he will be taking us behind the security and the road blocks on Friday. For the August 2 -3 middle of the night shoot we had to film from the other side though. His friend was to busy unfortunately.
Security is tight. Almost every entrance to Lower Wacker has a guy with a badge blocking it. However, we found two places without security and that lead us to get some of the footage we captured of the Batmobile. We had to hide my camera in a sweatshirt hoodie I carried around, so most of the footage is a little jumpy.
We walked around where the trailers were parked and found Christopher Nolan's trailer. It was big but I didn't get any shots of it. The wardrobe trailer was pretty cool. It was full of of trench coat type clothing. Mostly earth tones. The food smelled good too.
Mark Boone Junior, one of the actors on the film brought his son and daughter on set. Unfortunately, I didn't get any shots of him either. He spoke with a young security guy and was messing around with him. Mr. Boone has an obvious sense of humor. His hair was grown out shaggy and he looked somewhat beat up. It will be interesting to see who he actually plays in the film. As of right now I have no information as to who he actually plays. Supposedly, he is a supporting actor. I will give updates as soon as I am able.
The batmobile was somewhat loud. You could most definitely tell it was running. From around 9PM - 2AM it was just running back and forth down Wacker. Sometimes only rolling 300 feet and sometimes running quite a long stretch. I have information that they are doing POV shots. However, I am not sure how accurate that information is.
Resetting between takes took most of the time more than an hour so I didn't get a ton of shots of the batmobile running.
I hope you enjoy the footage we captured and I will hopefully have more information as Friday will be the day I get to spend behind the scenes on set.
