Does anyone know of a good utility (prefferably free) that I could use to rename the files that I capture with Premiere when I capture entire tapes? I know that this can be done before you capture, and I do that from now on, but I have a slew of old clips that I would like to rename so that I can sort them out better. Also, is there any way to tag metadata onto the clip so that I can put in info like, date, time, names etc etc?

Say the clips are named Clip-001.avi, Clip-002.avi, etc.
Go to a "DOS" prompt and do this:
rename Clip*.avi MyFilm*.avi
That'll turn them all into MyFilm-001.avi, MyFilm-002.avi, and so forth.
EDIT: a GOOD idea to copy them to another folder before doing this. I screwed it up in the past...and it's a PITA to unscrew it.
