It's hard to give a response without spoilers. Profound, moving, and they should show it to everyone in school as a lesson about the serious issues confronting women. I applaud you.

In isolation I found it entertaining with a funny twist that would have subverted my expectations had you not set it up with the assertion that it was about "violence against women". That my own interpretation was being subverted would have been amusing but since it was not my interpretation but set up with that outright assertion it left me feeling bothered by this. Unless I'm missing something (entirely possible) it left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth and made me question whether it was funny at all and whether I am okay with the fact I might have found it funny on my own. While I abhor political correctness, I like to think of myself as a progressive and right now these aspects are in conflict. I've watched a fair bit of Italian cinema over the years and the casual treatment of domestic abuse that is frequently portrayed in them has always been an issue for me, and this kind of plays into that. Would I have been as bothered without that association? I don't know.
Maybe I'm being too serious or just conscious of the fact that I watched a documentary on the weekend about the relative absence of female voices in this industry (and this site) and wonder if this is an example of how easily the rest of us can forget that. I don't know if I'm trying to make a point here. These are just the things going through my mind after watching this. It was well made and did make me think if nothing else, although not sure if that was the intent. To be clear though, I DO NOT FOR ONE MINUTE think the makers intended anything other than a misdirection and a funny twist. These are merely my reactions in the headspace I'm in right now. It just makes me think how easy it is as filmmakers to be blind to alternate interpretations when minority voices (in the industry) don't get heard.
