I do film work for the city hall of my town
I just recieved a email confirming camera accessory budget
That means i have money to buy DVX PAL accessories

What would be the most essential?
Polarizer?
35mm adapter?
Extra batteries?

I have no idea so any suggestion advice is very welcomed!

PS: Oh! i need to have a list before tomorrow morning
PSS: I have aprox 700$ (more or less)

Should be specific accessories for CAMERA
No mics, tripods, softbags
EXCLUSIVELY for Camera!

35mm adapter is a good to have but I would say a lower priority on a mattebox . There are a few options, but a Cavision with a polarizer should about cover it, you coulld then squeeze an extra battery in (which would be highest priority of all).

I say :

If you don't already have a large battery get 2 extra ones if you do just one
Polarizer Filter
UV Filter
Camera Bag ( Portabrace or something like that )
Cloth to clean lens
Head Cleaner Tape

A UV protection filter should be VERY first.

Get that valuable glass of yours covered and safe!

Then get some batteries.

Do you have a tripod? With the remaing $550 you can just get a decent set of sticks and a ok head.

After that: Audio

Screw the 35mm adapter. If you need to ask if you should get one, you don't need, let alone arn't even close to beeing ready, for one.

You should'nt be so arrogant Mikko as you have no idea if this camera will be used
by others than me. It is likely this will be so. If a pro filmaker is hired for a commercial for the cityhall (has happened before) maybe he needs a 35mm adapter.

And yes... read post before answering! you are too impulsive

cheers!

35mm adapters are a fad.
They look good, and they definaly have their place in the production toolbox.

However many people are investing in them without really understanding why. "Because everyone else has one" is the worst excuse for gear ever. If it was a 'must have' peice of kit, then no one would sell 1/3" cameras.

Just be carefull that you are spending the money in a way that makes sence to you.

You want arrogant? how about this incovinent truth:
If a Profesional is hired to do a commercial, (s)he won't be using a DVX.
