1) 1394 HDD. 15 "partitions"...so using 16GB cards I can store 240 GB...correct?

2) I cannot transfer 720PN over fire wire, correct? This means I MUST film at 720P?

3) Can someone suggest a quality 1394 HDD? :)

No pNative footage will stream out the firewire port of the HVX200.

G-Tech makes some great firewire HDDs as does Wiebetech. But you aren't clear on what you intend to do with it.

Do you want to transfer footage from the HVX200 to the firewire drive? If so, you will need a battery powered or external powered FW drive.

I want to store my p2 footage for later use to edit. I like the idea of FW because of the speed and the verification process when transfering footage from P2.

Sounds good, but again, do you want to transfer footage from the HVX200 to the firewire drive in the 1394 mode via firewire?

Your first question deals with what? And are you saying that when connected to transfer from the cam to the powered Firewire drive via 1394 mode, is there verification?

Also, you can transfer already shot pNative footage from the card to the firewire drive without issue

Yes, i will be transfering from the HVX to the hard drive via fire wire cable. Then later, at home, I will import from the hard drive into an editing program.

OMG...this is so complex :(
